Sometimes you're on...

...sometimes you're not. Tonight we weren't. Only bowled three games, which is short compared to our normal 5 or so on dollar days. I'd like to blame it on the fact that we hadn't been at Aloma Bowl in about a week but really we just were horrible. Here's Shannon bowling a strike. You can tell how well the night was going by the apathetic celebration...or lack of celebration.

Well that pretty much sums up the night. It was still fun spending time together. Now on to Modern Family. GOooooOoooOoOoOoAL!! Wait...

Main street lanes

Shannon, her cousin Adam and I ventured out to Main Street Lanes on Hilton Head Island. Prices here are like Park Ave. Boutiques Back home. $7.50/game for non-locals. Thankfully Tim gave us the local rate at $3/game. The bowling center was pretty dead and only required one person at the counter and another at the snack bar. 24 hardwood lanes with nice old Brunswick 2000 machines. We had to ask for help figuring out the machines, they were basically commodore 64s.

The lanes were definitely different from Aloma Bowl. A lot drier and stiff feeling, my ball was reacting a lot more. With the high prices, we only bowled two games. Everyone at least improved on the second game and a lot of fun was had. Bowling in different cities is going to be an interesting journey.

I was surprised at how empty the place was. Out of 24 lanes maybe 8 were bowling, I guess that explains the crazy pricing. In all it was a great night. Plus Tim gave us BOGO coupons for any AMF bowling center. The night ended with some drinks at a beach bar followed by a 2:00 am stroll by the ocean. Good times indeed.

edit: I figured I'd post our scores for our log. Not high scoring games at all but it's not entirley about scores for us. Sure we want to improve but we always just want to have fun and make good memories. Success.

We didn't throw

We didn't bowl last night because we got a bit busy. Got home worked around the house, cooked dinner and prepped for out trip to Hilton Head tomorrow. At that point it was a little too late to hit the lanes. So here's a re-cap of Monday:

Shannon bowled her highest game to date with a 154. She's still getting used to her ball too and getting more consistent. My highest game of the night was only 143 so she definitely kicked my butt.

The last game of night was a good one. Not high scoring but fun and close.

I started using the app Alley Tally on Monday as well. This will better help tracking consistancy and other cool stats I'll post on here. Everyone at the bowling centers will probably think I'm a jerk that's on his phone constantly but I'm just going green. lol.

So I did it

Yeah. I made a blog about bowling. I know what you're thinking (the two of you that are reading this). "Why?" or "So weird." Well blogs are free. I may or may not keep up with it, like my other famous blogs you may have heard of. "hip-tips", or maybe "Autowrong", ooo how about "My Photoshopped Life"...yeah exactly.

We'll see how it goes. I mainly just want to keep track of all the places we bowl and post some pictures, maybe, MAYBE the occasional video or two. Funny stories, photos, scores and hopefully new places, to come in the near future.
